This photo was from the "SIXTEEN" Newspaper from the USS Maury AGS-16 printed on 27 May 1954 and was sent to me by
BM-3 Rex Dabney who served aboard the Maury from 1953  to 1956

Tom E. Fathom was the Official Mascot of the Hydrographic Survey Ship, USS Maury (AGS-16), and has been selected for a "Puss 'N' Boots" bronse medal  award by a special committee apointed by the Puss 'N' Boots catfood manufacturing company.
